See this video for the story of the Class of 2014: their impact on the community in their first year together and their plans to take their place in the future!

Great communities don’t just happen. They develop over time and in response to a vision in which everyone can play a role. Leaders who help shape the vision for a great community come from every corner:  corporations and small businesses, government, community associations, nonprofits and faith communities.  Leadership Howard County has been at the forefront of empowering and connecting leaders since 1986 – and although we have made a sizable impact on helping our community work better for everyone we still have much work ahead.

Our mission is to empower leaders to transform the community In the last year, we helped our members define that mission by focusing on transitions in our community. At the same time, we undertook a strategic transformation of our own, and asked how we can better serve the graduates of 28 years of Leadership Howard County. We launched new programs and ideas to keep our colleagues connected with each other, and with the challenges and opportunities facing our community in the future. We strengthened our partnerships with businesses and sponsors, and our classes took on creative service projects that had a significant impact on the community.

With each class and an ever-growing membership, we continue to work toward our 2020 Vision of being the critical force in preparing, inspiring, connecting and sustaining community leaders to make Howard County the best place to live, work and play.
