Each year, Leadership Howard County honors individuals for outstanding dedication and commitment to serving the Howard County community. In the summer of 2022, LHC (Leadership Howard County) held an Illuminating Leadership Event to honor its former President & CEO; following the event, the organization felt it important to continue to illuminate the leadership that exists in our community and have reworked our annual awards event to do just that … continue to celebrate those leaders who have taken their place in our community, and shine brightly, while lighting the path for others.

These honorees exemplify the goals and characteristics of leadership at the highest level: using their skills and resources to make a positive impact on the community and providing a legacy for others to follow.

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

The Key Community Leader Award celebrates a Leadership Howard County graduate, or friend of Leadership, whose sustained service to Howard County has been made a significant impact and as added enduring value to our community. This year’s pre-identified honoree is Zack Shariff, LP ’12, CEO, Allen & Shariff.

The Emerging Leader Award recognizes a recent Leadership graduate who is highly engaged and emerging as a strong community advocate. Click here for the nomination form.

Corporate Community Impact Leader honors a company that is making significant contributions to the Howard County community through time, actions, talents, dedication, and resources, and serving as a role model for compassion and service while striving to make our community a better place to live, work, and play.
