Athelas Institute

Athelas Institute has been providing services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Howard County since 1976. The mission of Athelas is to provide opportunities for growth and personal accomplishment to these individuals, complimented by quality services and meaningful community engagement. Days End Horse Rescue Farm

A visit to DEFHR could include any of the following: • Educational Talk about DEFHR, focusing on our work in the community, education programs for adults and youth, and mission to help neglected and abused horses • Tour of the farm including horses currently in rehabilitation and composter • Meeting with our Trainer and demonstration on one of our rescued horses, after the group could meet the horse and ask questions • Hands On with the horses – grooming and leading them • Group Volunteer – cleaning an area of the farm or even completing

National Security Agency (NSA)

The group will plan to meet at the Cryptologic Museum (just outside the NSA headquarters) and hear an overview of the NSA/CSS and have a tour of the Museum.
