Nomination Form: LHC 2023 Corporate Community Impact Award

LHC's Community Impact Awards honor companies that are making significant contributions to the Howard County community through time, actions, talents, dedication, and resources. These companies serve as role models for compassion and service and strive to make our community a better place to live, work, and play by doing the following: 1) Shows a commitment to the community outside of normal business practices; 2) Has a long-term desire to build diverse, inclusive, and balanced communities; 3) Makes a sustainable and tangible impact in the region; 4) Displays a clear commitment to social responsibility; and, 5) Demonstrates leadership in the community.

Eligibility

This award is open to LHC-affiliated organizations and non-affiliated business in the community. The top three (3) businesses for consideration will be notified by October 10, with the recipient named/awarded at the Illuminating Leadership Event on November 16. Companies can self-nominate or nominate others in the community.

Application Overview

1) The size and scope of the corporation and why they should be considered as an entity that demonstrates corporate responsibility and goes beyond the call of duty in the community. 2) How the community has benefitted from the nominated corporation's programs/projects. 3) What lasting and/or meaningful contribution(s)/ impact(s) the corporation has made in Howard County. 4) Nominations will be accepted until September 30, 2023. 5) This award is open to LHC-affiliated organizations and non-affiliated business in the community. 6) The top 3 businesses for consideration will be notified by October 10, with the recipient named/awarded at the Illuminating Leadership Event on November 16. Please be sure to clearly indicate and confidential information so that it may be appropriately handled in that manner. Selection Criteria (not listed in any priority order) will be based on: Quality of commitment/contributions to the Howard County community [may be financial, in-kind, volunteer hours (corporate/employees) or all]; length of service - has the nominated company demonstrated sustained commitment to leadership in corporate social responsibility and service? Leadership qualities - has the nominated company a) Served in a leadership capacity (in the community) b) Inspired others (e.g., employees) to engage in being socially responsible and serving our community? c) Effectively mobilized volunteers, partners, and resources to serve the Howard County community; made an impact on the Howard County community? Been an innovator - how has the applicant utilized unique and creative approaches to meeting needs?
