Thought Leaders Series: Life Is A Marathon
Join us for a virtual conversation with Tatyana McFadden, one of the world’s fastest women, to hear her inspirational approach to life. Born with spina bifida and paralyzed from the waist down, Tatyana lived in a Russian orphanage until she was adopted at age six and brought to the USA. She was introduced to sports and fell in love with wheelchair racing. She entered her first Paralympics at age 15 and continues to challenge herself and break barriers. Her drive to be the best has helped advance the rights of people with disabilities, leading to state and federal legislation that ensures students with disabilities have equal access to compete in interscholastic athletics. She currently has earned 17 Paralympic medals, including seven gold; 24 World Major Marathon wins, and has broken five world track and field records.
