LHC’s Bridge the Classes is hosting a virtual season finale! This evening of learning and observing will be led by Allison Jessing, LP ’18, Head of Adult Curriculum – Howard County Library, who will lead guests on a virtual journey through five, specifically selected works of art. Learn how to “read a painting”; view, understand, and discuss art over a variety of genres and time periods. Also, tips will be provided to better discuss art with children in a way to open their minds to new perspectives. Prior to joining the HCLS in 2015, Alli worked at both the National Archives Museum and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, as an interpretive educator, and was a Smithsonian Ambassador for Celebrity Cruises. Alli holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film Studies from Boston University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography & Studio Art, and a certificate in Painting.
The goal of offering this event is to meet the fundraising goal set by this year’s Bridge the Classes’ “Big” Project, an outdoor drinking fountain installed at Howard County Conservancy’s Elkridge Location, Belmont Park. Read more about this project…
