Participate in one (or more) service opportunities in advance of Earth Day!

April 3rd – Patapsco Heritage Greenway:  Participate in a stream cleanup of the Sucker Branch (just north of Route 40 Ellicott City behind the Normandy Shopping Center). Full details may be found via the registration link below; please signup using the password “PHGLHC2021” (maximum of 10 people per link).


April 10 (9:30 am to 12 pm) – Howard County Conservancy – Mt. Pleasant Site (10520 Old Frederick Road, Woodstock, MD): Work outdoors in small groups doing gardening tasks and invasive plant removal work (25 people maximum).

April 22 (9 am to 12 pm) or (1 to 4 pm) – Howard EcoWorks (7301 Waterloo Road, Jessup, MD):  Volunteer at “Seeds of Change Nursery”, outside the fence at the local detention center, potting plants, and other gardening tasks. Each session limited to 8 volunteers.

April 24 (10 am to 12 pm) or (1 to 3 pm) – Freetown Farm (8000 Harriet Tubman Lane, Columbia, MD):

Volunteering will focus on the most needed tasks identified but may include building entrance pillars, working in the children’s garden, building a “bottle bench”, etc.  Each session limited to 10 adults.
