As a member of the Maryland House of Delegates I credit LHC with giving me a broad understanding of how government departments and private entities cooperate to make Howard County the best county in our state.

Thank You to all the Leadership alumni and families who participated in A Day of Service on June 23 at the Therapeutic and Recreational Riding Center in Glenwood, MD.

Dr. Helen Tuel, the Founding Director of TRRC, said "TRRC is in awe of how much 45 people can accomplish in one morning! No wonder you are called Howard County Leadership. Howard County is in good hands, indeed. Please know how much this Center appreciates your loving gesture of donating so much time to this Center. I cannot begin to tell you how excited everyone is about the newly-painted fences. I do not think our paddock fences have ever looked that good, even when new!
"I am thrilled you witnessed the delivery of our services to the 82 families (with 200 families being served each week all year long) who participate on Saturday, both in therapy and lessons, and Special Olympics Equestrian training for the State competition. You should know the staff is accommodating wounded soldiers from the surrounding VA hospitals and continues its ongoing relationship with Kennedy Krieger by treating specifically children with spina bifida. Rainbow Camp happens in July for children, who reside in the inner city of Baltimore, to experience their first horseback ride, first hay wagon ride, and trail expeditions.
"The riders are so proud of their Center; thank you for your generosity of spirit and talent. The work here is endless. You assist us to keep the magic and allure of the equestrian world alive and well."
MANY THANKS TO: NLP Enterprises, Inc. for donating the paint and rollers!
