The Leadership experience gave me the foundation and understanding of the County I needed to be an effective leader for Grassroots. Over the years, as an active member I have continued to use the Leadership network to get things done and cultivate professional relationships with business and government leaders. I also enjoy contributing to each new class as a way of sharing what I have learned with emerging community leaders.
Leadership Howard County broadened my understanding of the many important contributions made by various institutions (businesses, nonprofits, religious and government) in elevating the high quality of life here. The inspiration drawn from the energy, enthusiasm and determination of many Leadership graduates helps me strive to serve the community to the best of my own modest abilities.
Karen Bryant joined Leadership Howard County in 2008 and provides administrative support for LHC programs and operations, primarily for Leadership Essentials and Leadership U.
Karen has an extensive background in the nonprofit sector, having worked for United Way of Central Maryland, as well as being a volunteer for a variety of school-based activities and, most recently, with the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University in Psychology and Sociology, and a Master of Arts from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in Adulthood and Aging.
