ABOUT LEADERSHIP HOWARD COUNTY

Leadership Howard County is part of a national movement of “community leadership programs”. Howard County initiated its program in 1985 as a non-profit independent organization.
The program is supported by participant tuition and the contributions of our business community. Entrusted with those funds, Leadership Howard County strives to select individuals who

  • possess leadership skills
  • are willing to serve the community by sharing their talents, time and resources;
  • represent the diversity of our community; and
  • can effect change - thus ensuring Howard County’s values and quality of life.

Since 1985, over 700 participants have graduated from Leadership Howard County, thus providing the community with a cadre of leaders committed to meeting society’s challenges. Graduates serve over 240 organizations in Howard County, addressing such diverse issues as education, aging, healthcare, the arts and recreation.
